The Innovative Scientific and Educational Center of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev received a license to conduct environmental activities in the country.
The license issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan gives the right to work on the development of environmental regulations, including the development of acts that determine the amount of permissible air pollutants, the work on assessing the impact on the environment and the development of an environmental passport , as well as work carried out to determine the amount of permissible pollutants emitted into the water area. The center operates on the basis of self-financing, self-financing and profitability.
In the Innovative Research and Education Center, carry out a set of research works on environmental protection in the use and development of natural resources, ensuring an increase in the efficiency of oil and gas production while preventing environmental pollution. The main activity of the center is professional training of various segments of the population in terms of automation; implementation of educational programs after primary and postgraduate professional education; development of new formats of scientific and technical cooperation with the branches of ecology for the joint solution of large-scale scientific and technical problems and intensification of the introduction of innovations developed by universities. Research work involves the use of methods for maintaining the purity of soil, water, air and cleaning them from various harmful substances.
In the Innovative Scientific and Educational Center, according to the obtained license, he will develop environmental passports, technological regulations, specifications and state standards for new types of products manufactured by enterprises, organizations, plants and factories of the country, as well as other objects of the public and private sector.
Also, for the first time in Turkmenistan since 2023, on the basis of the Innovative Scientific and Educational Center, new areas of training for environmental safety specialists in the 20th direction have been opened.
The purpose of the course "Environmental safety" is to form in students a modern science-based environmental outlook and eco-culture, knowledge and ideas about pollutants, the possibilities of ecological processing of man-made emissions and ways to safely place these emissions in the environment.
The training program "Environmental Safety" includes such tasks as the formation of skills to use theoretical knowledge to solve various problems, the development of skills to propose ways to influence the environment to reduce the level of environmental risk.
In recent decades, due to the steady development of world oil and gas production, the introduction of new technologies for the development and production of hydrocarbons, the use of natural resources and subsoil for industrial needs, and the negative impact of human activity on the environment, the issue of protecting the environment from anthropogenic impact has become acute. Successful solution of problems in the field of nature protection is possible only with a high level of environmental knowledge and culture, especially among engineering personnel. Therefore, existing and re-emerging environmental crises associated with production activities oblige to rethink and evaluate the existing idea of production efficiency, require an examination of its environmental safety and, most importantly, the formation of a new environmental thinking in every person. The task of humanity is to make active efforts to save the biosphere, atmosphere, earth's interior and, ultimately, itself from the destructive influence of the oil and gas production complex.
The most important component of the environmental policy of any state is the training of specialists capable of solving environmental problems of various scales and in various industries.
The main idea of the course is that the protection of nature in the exploration, extraction and processing of minerals; exploration, drilling and development of oil and gas fields should be carried out on a unified scientific basis using an integrated system approach. Therefore, along with factual data on the impact of oil and gas production on the environment, the state of natural components and complexes, methods and means of environmental protection activities at enterprises, the course of lectures contains a number of methodological and methodological materials that are aimed at a deeper theoretical training of specialists in the field of oil and gas production . Deepening theoretical knowledge in the field of protection and rational use of natural resources and concretization of practical knowledge will ensure effective training of specialists for the oil and gas industry.
